Coalville Male Voice Choir
Welcome!
We are a group of men from Coalville and its surrounding areas who love singing together and performing on stage. Even through the pandemic of 2020 and 2021, the enthusiasm and commitment of the choir members to entertain is still as strong as ever. We are looking forward to once again delivering a wide selection of music from traditional to contemporary to venue-based audiences throughout the year!

Colin Hodges recently retired from Coalville Male Voice Choir after 30 years singing in the 2nd tenor section. Choir members have honoured and recognised his contribution to the choir by presenting him with a Life Membership. Chairman Kevin McHugh officiated the presentation.
Colin always expounded the health and wellbeing benefits of singing with a choir, and the unparalleled comradeship. There have been many tremendous memories of concerts and events he has been involved in, including singing without accompaniment in Liverpool Cathedral, Morte Christe in a 4-part harmony and joining choirs from all over the UK for a charity concert in the Albert Hall.
There are fond memories of the choir's annual tours where we travelled to sing in venues all over Britain, from the Isle of Wight to Scotland. Colin is sure there was some sort of record set when he sang solo spots at a Brixham/Torquay concert, and his brother Ken also sang solo at the same concert. Probably the first and last time this has happened with the choir.
We wish Colin and his wife Mari every happiness in their retirement.
About us
We love to sing, trying out new songs and of course the old favourites too! We enjoy collaborating with other choirs and complimenting our performances with performances from brass bands. Above all else we are passionate about entertaining but very importantly we make sure we have fun!
Join us
Everyone and anyone is welcome to join the choir. You don’t need to be the next Ed Sheeran or Pavarotti. Just an enthusiasm for singing, a good sense of humour and a willingness to learn! Just remember singing is proven to be beneficial for mental well being.
