Meet the team who make it all happen. We are committed to the continued success of Coalville Male Voice Choir, and work hard to drive the development of our members, our performances and our audiences.
President
I have a long association with the CMVC as a concert soloist and supporter and I am honoured to have become their President in 2023. I sing with both Broomleys Choral Society and Coalville Amateur Operatic Society in addition to solo engagements.
I am a School Finance Manager in an Independent School for children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
Chairman
I joined the choir in 2014 and have been a member of the committee now for a number of years.
I currently work part time for a company who contracts to LCC for the transport of SEN juveniles to and from school.
In my spare time I enjoy playing football, walking and working on my allotment.
Vice Chairman
I joined the Choir in 2024 and almost immediately found myself elected to the committee as Vice Chairman.
I play the clarinet and am a retired social science researcher.
Choir Secretary
I first attended practices in 2017 following an invite from a member. I became the committee secretary in 2020.
Upto recently I was a school governor and also a member of the Ashby 41 club.
I am a closet angler.
Treasurer
I have been a member of the choir since 2017 and joined the committee in 2020.
I am now retired as a painter and decorator (please someone tell the family).
I’ve also been part of the Marlborough Square Community Choir for the last 10 years.
Concert Secretary
I joined the choir in July 2021 and was then elected to the role of concert secretary in April 2022.
I currently work full time in construction but I aim to reduce my hours over the next two to three years as I head toward semi retirement.
I am also the keeper of the musical equipment for choir concerts.
Male Voice Choir Musical Director
I joined the choir in 2020.
I am a freelance professional musician in the Midlands with a background in choral music, having been an assistant cathedral organist.
I am studying for a PhD in music composition at the University of Aberdeen.
